Using a SmartLink

With SmartLinks you can make your blogs fun and useful for your readers by offering them more information about whatever you're linking to. A SmartLink still looks like an ordinary link, but has a launcher that when clicked, pops up a window with details and shortcuts to relevant sites. Each type of BlueMark has its own set of shortcuts tailored to its category.

For example, a Book BlueMark has a link to LibraryThing while a Movie BlueMark has a link to rent on Netflix.

Example

  • Click on the launcher of the Spider-Man 3 SmartLink below. Notice how the image changes.
  • This Movie BlueMark will pop up on the screen.
  • Click on any of the related links to view clips, compare prices, rent, read reviews, or find similar movies. You can also find more information about this movie or save it.
  • For example, clicking on This movie on IMDB will take you to its IMDB page.
  • You can save this movie by clicking on the Save button on the bottom corner of the SmartLink.
  • The first time you press Save you must fill in your AdaptiveBlue account info. This is a one-time deal--once you're logged in, we'll remember your account info.
  • If you don't have an AdaptiveBlue account, you can create one here. You can then view all of your saved items using BlueOrganizer for Firefox.
  • Want to save this to another site? Just click any one of the icons in the save toolbar and you'll be directed there immediately.
  • For even more save options click the more... link. From here you can save to 30 other popular sites!
